Part:BBa_K4601004
NpHR P240T F250Y
This part is the NpHR P240T F250Y mutant halorhodopsin.
Usage and Biology
NpHR is a halorhodopsin identified in the archaea Natronomonas pharaonis (Uniprot P15647). Its a mutant P240T, F250Y is able to interact with NpHtrII, while the wild type protein (BBa_K4601003) is not [1].
Halorhodopsins are chloride inward pumps activated by light [2].
For the characterisation of this part an expression cassette was assembled and the results are presented on its page in Parts Registry: BBa_K4601204.
